What’s Therapy Like With Me
Here is a space just for you.
Starting therapy is a significant decision, whether it’s your first time or you’re returning to the process after a period of time away.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxious thoughts, stuck in a difficult emotional place, or unsure what steps to take next, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
From the moment you step into our work together, my goal is to create a space that feels safe, calm, and supportive. In this space, you can be exactly who you are. There’s no need to have all the answers.
We’ll start wherever you are, and go from there.

Establishing the right relationship is essential.
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. I’ll listen closely as you share what’s on your mind and what’s led you to seek support. There’s no pressure to open up all at once. I understand therapy is a process, and we’ll move at your pace to determine what feels beneficial for your healing.
Over time, we’ll start to connect the dots between what you’re experiencing now and what might be driving it underneath.
My clients often say they’re surprised by how quickly they begin to gain clarity. If you’re navigating a life transition, working through trauma, or rebuilding self-esteem, we’ll create a path forward that feels empowering and achievable.
Clients start to feel that it’s not just about what’s not working, but also about what is possible.

Our sessions are collaborative and dynamic.
We may talk through challenges, explore emotions, practice mindfulness, or learn techniques to help calm the nervous system.
I integrate practical tools, such as breathwork, meditation, and clinical hypnotherapy, when appropriate, all grounded in evidence-based practice and neuroscience.
You’ll learn to recognize how anxiety, trauma, and life stressors affect your mind and body; and more importantly, how to shift out of fight-or-flight patterns into a state of greater calm and clarity.
After a few months (or sooner), many clients notice that they feel more confident, grounded, and capable of handling life’s uncertainties.
About Nancy Baker, PhD

I want to help people face challenges in a positive way.
I was drawn to the field of therapy through a deep interest in understanding people and the challenges we face throughout life.
Over time, I witnessed how meaningful support and guidance can make a powerful difference, and I felt called to provide that same space for others. My work is grounded in helping clients move through life’s complexities with greater awareness, compassion, and resilience.
Today, I specialize in helping adults manage anxiety, life transitions, depression, trauma, and self-esteem issues.
My approach is client-centered and collaborative. I bring warmth, directness, and nonjudgmental presence into every session, always listening with care and tailoring our work to what you most need in the moment.

My approach is holistic.
In addition to talk therapy, I draw from multiple therapeutic approaches that support emotional well-being, self-awareness, and long-term change.
I also draw heavily from the latest neuroscience research, particularly in understanding how the brain and nervous system impact our mental health.
This means we might talk not only about what you’re thinking, but also how your body is responding, and how we can work together to support regulation and healing on every level.
Outside work, I try to stay grounded.
When I’m not working with clients, you’ll often find me enjoying meditation practice, learning something new, or spending time in nature. These practices keep me grounded, and I hope our work together helps you feel more grounded, supported, and connected to your own inner wisdom.
